In Portugal, most of the highways have automatic or manual tolls. When you’re circulating through one of these roads you should be aware to the chosen way. The designated “Via Verde” is an exclusive way for those who have their own device to automatically debit the toll fee. If you don’t have this device you should go through a normal manual way.
On the caso of the highways known as SCUTS, where you might see automatic porches, debit is done directly through the device. If you don’t have this device or you’re using a rent car you should head to the nearby post office and by telling your license plate number you’ll be able to pay the toll fee.
