Metro in Portugal is composed by two units in Lisbon and Oporto. Discover the lines and stations of each one of them.
Metro in Lisbon is represented by four coloured lines, red, green, yellow and blue. The metro service covers the central zone of Lisbon and some suburban areas as Pontinha, Alfornelos, Amadora and Odivelas.
Choosing the metro as a way of travelling through the city is a great idea as this is an accessible, regular and well connected to other services as the bus and train network in Cais do Sodré, connecting it to the Cascais line, Oriente and Santa Apolónia stations connecting it with the Azambuja line, regional trains, pendular trains (Lisbon-Porto) and international trains (Lisbon-Madrid). Through the metro station of Sete Rios, Entrecampos or Restauradores you might catch the train to Sintra.
First time you’re being a metro ticket, 0,50€ will be charged for the issuing of the card. This card might be recharged for other metro trips and also for train tickets and bus rides.
Ticket 1 zona Metro/Carris = 1,40 €
Daily Ticket Metro/Carris (valid for the whole metro and bus network 24H after the first validation) = 6,00 €
The Oporto Metro is constituted by six underground lanes that connect not only the main points of the city of Oporto yet also the city of Gaia, on the other side of the Douro River.
This metro network is quite modern (its construction was initiated in 2000), accessible and might represent the best way for you to move around the city.
Tickets for the Metro network are, similarly to the Lisbon Metro, electronic and chargeable, they’re known as Andante and might also be used for the SCTP bus network and for the CP trains.
Future expansion of these lines is predicted to new points of the city’s suburbs.

Ticket 1 trip (Z3) = 1,45 €
Daily 24H Ticket (Z2) = 4,15 €
Daily 24H Ticket (Z3) = 5,00 €
