The main religion in Portugal is the catholicism. Nevertheless, the portuguese constitution establishes the religious freedom in Portugal.
Statistics point that 8 in every 10 portuguese are catholic and nearly half regularly assists to the mass. It’s for this reason that the catholic church maintains, even nowadays, a great influence on the society.
Apart from catholics, Portugal considers a wide number of Evangelical (protestants) and other minority religions as the Jehovah's witnesses, jews, anglican, islamic, hindus, orthodoxes, buddhists and others.
