Vila do Corvo is the capital city and only town in Corvo Island, the smallest island in Azores, Portugal.

The town currently has a port and an aerodrome that finally broke the great isolation this island had. It is curious to know that this little town is one of the few areas in the Azores which has gained inhabitants in the last decade, there must be a reason why...

The town attracts attention at first sight due to the fact that many of the dwellings making up the group of houses, located shaping an amphitheatre, are covered with stone slabs. This is because the tiles did not arrive to the island until the last few years, when started to arrive several items to it.

One of the must-visit places in Vila Nova do Corvo is the 18th century Igreja de Nossa Senhora dos Milagres Church. On it stands out the Renaissance Flemish statue, which protected the 200 inhabitants that landed in 1632 armed with farming tools, sticks and stones, from the attack of ten Argelian pirates ships. This historical fact made them change their worship from the Virgem do Rosário to the Milagros one.

Another interesting place in the town, although this time is a little bit separated from the nucleus, is the three windmills complex, of Arabic influence and very different from the ones seen in the rest of the islands of the Archipelago. The complex is presently an ethnographic museum.
