This bridge with Medieval origins is 380 metres high and crosses the Lima River.
It is the main monument of the city of Ponte de Lima. It counts with two different sectors, one of Roman origins with five arches and another one medieval, made up by fifteen arches, since the bridge had to be enlarged on the 14th century after a change in the river course.
The original Roman bridge was part of the road that linked the city of Braga with Astorga (Spain).
