The Praia do Cabedelo Beach is located besides the historic town of Viana do Castelo, in northern Portugal.
This is one of the best beaches in the north of Portugal. It’s a bay with the shape of a half-moon, approximately 1 kilometer long, with golden fine sand and small dunes with plants. It is sheltered from strong winds by a pine forest.
This beach is excellent for kitesurfing, since it is an area that receives wind "on-shore", from sea to the land throughout the year.
To get to this beach departing from Viana do Castelo, you can go through the road or by the ferry boat which crosses the River (prices: adults – 1.50€ and children – 0.80€), from the quay located southern from 5 October Square. The journey lasts only 5 minutes and the boats depart every half hour, from 09:00 - 19:00h.
You can also get there by bus, from the bus station of the city.
