The Parque Natural da Serra Arrábida (Arrábida Natural Park) is extended over more than 10,800 hectares of mountains, valleys and maritime areas between the cities of Setúbal, Sesimba and Palmela.
The quality of this Nature Park is due not only to its valuable natural resources but also to the low humanization of the region.
This park includes the mountains of São Luis, Gaiteiros, São Francisco, Louro and Arrábida.
The Arrábida Natural Park was created to satisfy the need of preserving the natural and historic resources of this region. This park is also an area of promotion of natural products such as Azeitão’s wines tasty cheese, as well as of cultural products like the Convent of Arrábida.
In this park you might find interesting diversified fauna as the wild cat, badger, bats, eagles, owls, butterflies and many others.
The variety of flora in this region is also very relevant as well as one of the reasons to create this park. In the Arrábida Natural Park you might also find nearly 1450 species of plants.
