The Aveiro Museum is located on the old Jesus Convent a museum complex of History, Art and local Culture.
In the interior of this convent you might find the Saint Joana Thumb. The monumental building dates back to the XV century and it presents several architectonic styles essentially based on the baroque.
The permanent exhibition of this museum has pieces from the XIV to the XIX centuries from many typologies as paintings, sculptures, carving, tiles, jewelry, textiles as well as documents and manuscripts dating back to the foundation of the convent itself, in the XV century
At this museum you might even find important samples of ceramic, glass, metal and archaeologic remainings from local ventures.
