The Church of Senhor Bom Jesus da Cruz is located in the corner of Campo da República in the city of Barcelos, in the Minho region, in northern Portugal.
This fascinating octagonal church was designed in 1704 by architect João Antunes and was inaugurated for services in 1710. Inside you can admire the Baroque style with colorful mosaic tiles that portray the Jesus’ last days.
This church plays a main role during the festival of the crosses, which takes place during the 3 of May each year.
