At the museum you will find excellent examples of pottery from almost every regional styles of Portugal.

This museum is housed in the former Casa dos Mendanhas Cyrne Benevides, in the historic town of Barcelos.

The museum has a collection of 9,000 pieces of pottery, mostly Portuguese but also from some other countries such as Angola, Brazil, Chile, Spain and Cape Verde.

Currently, the museum building is being refurbished to improve its facilities, so its collections are temporarily located in the Municipal Estadio Cidade de Barcelos .
