The Solar dos Magalhães is a historical building dating back to the XVIII century that belonged to the Magalhães family. It is located in the charming village of Amarante, northern Portugal.
This building has been abandoned and in state of decay since 1809, when it was set on fire by French troops during the second French invasion. Currently, it’s one of the main touristic attractions in the town, and one of the symbols of resistance and strength against the French invasions.
