Mafra’s National Park was built during the kingdom of D. Joao V after building the magnificent Mafra’s Convent. The National Park had the main goal of becoming a leisure space for the royal family and nobles.
Mafra’s National Park occupies a space of 819 hectares mostly forest where many species live freely as deers, boars and many different amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds.
On this park you might take trips, visits and pedestrian trails. practice arrow and bow, ride the small train, take a donkey ride, horse ride, watch raptors shows, MTB trails, take part on night activities as well as dawn trips, treasure hunts and much more.
