Fajãzinha and Fajã Grande are two hamlets located in an America-facing narrow strip of land which, located at the foot of steep cliffs where startling waterfalls discharge.Here stand out the hiking routes of the area, which go all over the littoral, especially on the part of Ponta do Albarnaz.
Both cities are quite isolated, but they cheer up in summer time, since they are visited by many summer holidaymakers who own summer houses in the area.

Fajãzinha is a lovely village less than 16 kilometres away from Santa Cruz. It is full of white houses, kitchen gardens, maize fields, and seagrass prairies located around a volcanic crater.
This fairy-tale village is dominated by the 18th century Igreja dos Remedios Church, with an atrium used as viewpoint.
Fajã Grande is located just 4 kilometres far from Fajãzinha. On the road which separates them and in the seaside is located Cuada, a village that has been became an exceptional rural tourism centre.

Close to here is the Miradouro Craveiro Lopes Viewpoint, with a spectacular panoramic view over the wooded ravine, one of the most beautiful places of the island.
