Ourém is located 1 hour from Lisbon and 2 from Porto, at approximately 7 kilometres from the city of Fátima.
It is worth to visit the Ourém Castle, Paços do Conde Palace, and all the Medieval Villa (old city), located on top of the hill and hosting two Gothic doors, one of them belonging to the village and the other to Santarém.
It is also worth to walk along the Medieval villa narrow streets, where it is possible to find architectural complex in Gothic, Manueline, Mudejar, Baroque and Pombaline styles. It is also quite interesting to visit the Igreja Colegiada de Nossa Senhora das Misericórdas Church and the Pillory of 1620.
To understand better the apparitions in the area you must visit the Ourém Municipal Museum- Administrador Nucleus House, located in the city centre. It is so close to Fátima, so it is worth to visit this religious pilgrimage site, housing several religious, historic and cultural places, like the Fátima Sanctuary or the Igreja da Santíssima Trindade Church.
