Caldas de Monchique is a little village blessed with peaceful surroundings and pastel-coloured buildings on a beautiful valley filled with calling birds, eucalyptus and pine trees.
This quiet village is located 6 Km South from Monchique, and is famous for its spa for over than 2000 years. Romans already loved its 32 degree waters, slightly sulphurous, which are good for rheuma, and for breathing and digestive ailments.
The well-known health resort of this village was closed in 1997 after being affected by major floods. Later, it was reconverted in a spa resort.
