Fajã do Ouvidor is a fairytale village located in the council of Velas in the São Jorge Island, in Azores.
This beautiful place is enclosed in a bay with a pier and natural pools. This little city reaches a notable amusement on summer time, while the rest of the year offers a calm stay.
This fajã projected on a peak is one of the biggest and most beautiful of the island. At one side is located the pier and some excellent natural pools.
The village is made of beautiful ashlar unfocused houses, with kerbs or totally whitewashed; little crops gardens, mainly of corn and grapes.
In the surroundings of this village is located the Senhora das Neves Temple, inside the city of Norte Grande; and a great quantity of fajãs.
If you like hiking it is worth following the route that departs from Fajã dos Cubres and reaches Ponta da Caldeira and the Fajã do Santo Cristo, around two hours walking by the sea and cliffs edge.
