Sete Fontes is a forestal park enclosed inside a reservation which covers completely the North end of the São Jorge Island, which is extended towards the Rosais Top, counting with a total of 304 hectares.
This forestal park is devoid of centres of population, and it offers fantastic pasture landscapes.
The park is made of avenues of different coloured azaleas and trees such as Indian beeches, camelias, pines, heathers, acanthus, etc. In a nearby roundabout to the chapel it is exhibited a whaler boat and a tiles panel which reproduces the famous canvas of Domingos Rebelo about immigration.
The park also hosts a little zoo with ostrich farmyard, rabbits, fallow deers, and ducks, and a recreative area where you can eat.
It is worth visiting the Miradouro del Pico da Velha Overlook, 453 metres high, from which you can admire Rosais, the Velas Volcano, and the Pico and Faial Islands in the back.
