Saint Peter 's Church declared as Property of Public Interest in 1996, it is located in the heart of the historic centre of Peniche, and is currently the largest church in the council.
This church dates back to the end of the XVI century and it’s divided within three great naves. The lateral naves have many holy altarpieces dedicated to different saints such as Our Lady of Boa Viagem, our Lord of Bonfim, Saint Peter of Alcantara. The central nave is highlighted by its major chapel dedicated to Saint Peter, adorned with golden leaf, beautiful dorsal columns as well as many paintings from the XVIII century which represent life scenes from its patron saint.
