Discovered in 1750, it is today a small thermal centre offering therapeutic baths and other treatments, mainly focused on the properties of its waters.
This place houses the best natural pools in the island, fed with seawater springs flowing at 45ºC. Its waters are rich in chloride, sodium, sulfate and calcium, and are prescribed for the treatment of rheumatism, colitis, dermatitis and neuralgia.
The neighbouring town of Ponta da Restinga is nearby, so you are able to watch the islet Ilhéu de Baixo, as you'll find a great lookout point from where you can see great views of the monument.
