Igreja da Misericórdia Church, also known as Igreja do Santo Cristo, stands next to Rossio, the central square of Santa Cruz da Graciosa, capital of Graciosa Island, Azores, Portugal.
The temple dates from the 18th century and presents the the image of Christ for worship by the faithful. The main altar displays an image of Santo Cristo dos Milagres. It also houses an intricate carved wooden altar adorned with interesting paintings.
The church is the main attraction during the most important festival in town on the second week of August, the Festas do Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres, because the image of Christ is taken in procession throughout the city.
