The Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário Church is situated in Praça da Restauração Square and it was built between 1698 and 1715 thanks to the contributions by the fishermen’s guild of Olhão.
This church has a baroque façade where its high steeple stands out. It is an ideal place to contemplate the maze of streets of the fishing district, located among Ría Formosa harbour and the city centre.
Inside there are five altars, the main shrine that has an altarpiece and a golden triumphal arch. The roof is decorated with a fresco and an image of Nossa Senhora do Rosário.
Praça da Restauração, Olhão.
