The Museu da Cidade de Olhão (City Museum of Olhão) is situated in a building known as Compromisso Marítimo, it is a place that adds a high historical value to this village, built in 1768 by João dos Santos Tavares and Álvaro da Silva, as a way of supporting local fishermen.

Inside, it displays an archaeological and ethnographic collection related to village’s history and its concelho (district). It also has some temporary exhibitions.
