Serpa Castle is a Medieval building heavily worn off by the wars of 1707-1708, being the keep the only standing part.
The castle is accessed through a thick yet cracked wall where only a small although impressing gate exists.
The interior of the keep is not that overwhelming, but you can walk around the battlements, which have an incredible panoramic views over the plains, aqueduct, walls, and roofs of the city.
Next to the castle, as usual, stands the Igreja de Santa Maria, Gothic in style and with 17th century tiles.
