Afurada is a pintoresque village located next to the mouth of the Douro River, in Vila Nova de Gaia.
This town has its own fishing tradition characterised by the tiles that cover the homes and its cafes with the scent of Caldeirada drink.
To reach this charming spot you can take the tram from Ribeira and get down in the stop located just in the West of Puente da Arrábida Bridge. Then, take the small ferry that crosses the river (around 1€, and if you want you can take your bike with you for an extra euro). If you prefer to go by bus, you can take lines 93 or 96 from Cordoaria that stop right on the other side of the bridge, in Vila Nova de Gaia.
