If you’re looking for an opportunity to try climbing but don’t have the experience or the necessary equipment we recommend you to find some of the schools or regional clubs which promote climbing in Setúbal, specially in Serra da Arrábida Mountains, where you might find all the important information to start your climbing experience.
If you already have experience, you should know that in Setúbal it is possible to find many rock trails with impressive views over the sea and nature.
In the summer, due to the fact that most of the ways are turned South, it might be hard to climb areas like Portinho da Arrábida as they receive direct heat. We recommend you to try these ways during autumn, winter or spring. There are many sheltered ways so rain won’t be a problem.
El Carallon, a creek near Portinho da Arrábida with moderate technical difficulty and 390 metres long.
The Murteira Sector with low technical difficulty and 320 metres long.
The Cú de Judas, also in Portinho da Arrábida, with 160 metres and a level IV short way.
Outão, with moderate difficulty and 190 metres.
