Convento da Saudação Convent is considered to be the highest artistic valued monument in Montemor-o-Novo. Its origins date back to the 16th century, even though it was partially refurbished during the 19th century.
The building was used as an enclosed monastery by the Order of São Domingos and later as a shelter for children in need. Nowadays it hosts a D. João III ages cloister used as a cultural space where exhibitions, theatre shows, music, dance, and other activities take place.
