This church is one of the most important and rich Baroque churches in the area of Elvas. It was erected in 1701, and the 18th-century tiles are the most important of its pieces.

They represent the life of San Francisco and the Nativity. Another important piece is the gilded sculpture of the major chapel, of great artistic value.
