Praia de Vare Furado Beach is flanked by a complex of yellowish and reddish clayey cliffs. The erosion in those cliffs is quite marked and presents very unusual shapes, giving this way the name to the beach.
The access is very steep, but has been considerably improved to guarantee the safety of the swimmers.
In spite of this beach is not classified as a bathing area, the Town Hall, collaborating with the Sub-Região of Health of Leiria, has monitored and verified the high quality of its waters. Furthermore, It has lifeguard service and is cleaned daily during the summer.
This beach is an excellent choice on very windy days, since the cliff offers a good shelter. It is a good zone for practicing sport fishing too.
There is a bar next to the parking area.
