In Vila Nova da Barquinha, popularly known as Barquinha, is a Portuguese village from the Santarém district.
This city is an ideal place to enjoy a few relaxing days, and as a starting point go begin your tours towards the imposing Almourol Castle, set up only 5 kilometres far.
From Barquinha stands out the Almourol Sculpture Park, opened in 2013, as it is considered an idyllic place for walking, picnicking, and enjoying the best Portuguese contemporary sculptures. The majority of the sculptures are interactive, and the park is provided with beautiful fountains, machines for sports activities, free internet connection by Wi-Fi, etc.
The city counts with exceptional conditions to practice active tourism, offering the possibility of canoeing, rafting, horseback riding, paintball, BTT, arborism, cycling, among many other activities.
