The city of Biscoitos is located in the council of Praia da Vitória Beach in Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal.
The name of this city is owed to its similarities with the formations of solidified lava, coming from the volcanic eruption taking place in the 17th century, which is present in the Northern coastline with the Bioscoitos. It is stale bread made with water and flour and boiled twice to make it last so much.
On the littoral you will find two beautiful natural pools, greatly equipped with showers, lifeguards and bar. They are located over a solidified lava formation which shows an amazing landscape, full of fanciful formations.
The coast promenade is provided with beautiful overlooks from where you will make out the volcanic mountain of Matías Simão.
On the interior you will see a landscape dominated by a vineyard, beside other crops. Stand out the new church, adjoined to a brotherhood in 1872, and a blue mansion hosting the Museu do Vinho dos Biscoitos (Wine Museum).
On the East side of the city is situated the Quatro Ribeiras Bay, labeled as Community Interest Place in 2001, and known by being the first area to be inhabited by the colonists around 1460.
