The Museu Etnográfico do Freixial (Freixial Ethnographic Museum) is a reconstruction of a rural house of in the late 19th century, where you will feel in touch with the rural life and the traditions of that time.
This museum has a thematic exhibition: the revisiting of the routine of the people who survived thanks to an economy of subsistence through hard times, where the skills of a carpenter were as important as those of a blacksmith, a sawyer or a weaver. The house is presented as an interactive museum, where the mysteries of the history of a village are unveiled, perpetuating its memory and cultural identity.
This museological institution plays an important socio-pedagogical role through its permanent exhibition and the numerous activities where it revisits and conveys its cultural heritage.
