The São Francisco Convent is located near the river Lis, inLeiria, Portugal.
This convent, founded in 1232, has a church that still preserves a chapel with a remarkable altar da Piedade.
In 1994, while restoring the convent, it was discovered a notable set of Gothic canvasses in the major Chapel.
Currently, the church is open to the public and, besides being a place of worship, it houses plenty of cultural events like exhibitions, concerts, etc.
