Mosteiros is a marine town located, a bit far away, in the West of the São Miguel Island, in Azores, Portugal.
This village is characterized by its marine card, with its natural pools placed above the lava strainings, and the nearby islets which extends from its nose.
The city, a bit large since it counts just with single-family houses, is structured through a large inside street, with the praçã de São Lázaro Square and its hermitage, and a marginal promenade beside the sea. In the South of the city there is a little beach; and 1.5 km Northern are located the flashy natural pools.
In the descend to Monteiros, near the Casa da Falesia House, you will find a diversion towards the Pico de Mafra Pike, from where you can have fantastic views of the village, the four nearby islets and the cape.
A few kilometres South is found the Ponta do Escalvado Pike with its overlook, from which it dominates the coast between the Ferraria and dos Mosteiros Pikes.
Two kilometres far from here, without abandoning the littoral, and going around the Camarinhas Volcano, is located the city of Ferraria, dominated by its elegant 1901 lighthouse. At the entrance of the mentioned village there a steep diversion which goes to a bathing area at the feet of the pike, where it has been formed a black sand cove where the water is usually two or three degrees upper than in the surroundings, since it is located beside a hot springs area.
