The São Roque Fort is a good example of modern military architecture. It is located in the Alentejo city of Castelo de Vide, Portugal.
This fort was built commanded by Manuel Azevedo Fortes between 1705 and 1710. It has four bastions in the inner vertex, making up a rectangle.
Its interior houses the Igreja de São Roque Church. It was built in the 15th century and rebuilt in the 18th.
