The Museu de Arte Sacra Monsenhor Manuel Francisco Pardal (Religious Art Museum) is located in the Igreja da Misericórdia Church of Aljezur, a temple from the end of 16th century, in the district of Faro, in Algarve.
This religious museum is attached to the church. It is home to pieces of the Misericórdia de Aljezur, of the parish Nossa Senhora da Alva and of some other pieces belonging to oblations and acquisitions. The pieces are distributed into seven glass cabinets according to the liturgical times of the Catholic church.
The Igreja da Misericórdia church was severely damaged by the 1755 earthquake, so it had to be rebuilt at the end of the 18th century. Nowadays, it owns a unique Renaissance vestibule where it can be seen the date “1577”.
