This beach is located in the mouth of Ribeira de Aljezur bank, forming an estuarine-lagoon system of great natural beauty.

Praia da Amoreira Beach is preceded by a wide-dune area evolving to a reservoir where still animals like otter, grey heron or kingfisher can be observed.

When there is low tide great lagoons appear in the sandy area, turning out to be a very pleasant and safety place for children.
