Porta da Vila is the main entrance to the town of Óbidos. It is a double gate with the interior covered in blue tiles dating back to the XVIII century, leading directly into Rua Direita, the main street.
On the top of this monumental entrance, there is an inscription «A Virgem Nossa Senhora foi concebida sem pecado original».
Inside there exists the chapel-sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, patron virgin of the town, with a baroque balcony and blue and white tile dated around 1740 and 1750, with allegories that represent the Passion of Christ.
