Dedicated to São Salvador, Alvor Mother Church (Igreja Matriz de Alvor) is part of the city of Alvor since the XVI c., even though it was rebuilt during XVIII c.
The manueline hallway, one of the most stunning ones in Algarve, is worth the visit.
The inside in divided in three naves, supported by pillars paneled with XVIII c. tiles with representations of religious scenes . The church hosts a valuable image of a crucified Senhor dos Navegantes, also of the XVIII c., which according to the story arrived by sea.
