The Jesuit College (Colégio dos Jesuítas) is one of the most important religious buildings in Portimão, along with Nossa Senhora da Conceiçao Mother Church.
Its building was ordered by the end of XVII c., by a nobleman named Diogo Gonçalves. He is buried in the interior of a polychromatic marble mausoleum.
The church is the biggest of Algarve and has been declared as declared to be of Public Interest. Its majestic facade and the major altar are decorated with a polychrome-golden wooden reredos dating of XVII c.
Nowadays, the church houses a painting gallery and a senior centre in its side naves.
