Praia Formosa Beach is located in the city of Almagreira, in the Santa María Island, Azores, Portugal.

This beach is characterised by its large, light coloured sandy area, the only one of 1 kilometre in Azores. Its waters are very clean and clear, being one of the best bathing areas in the archipelago.

This area offers excellent conditions to practise water sports, worldwide known for hosting each year since 1984 the International Festival Maré de Agosto, a lively music festival.

Beside the beach is located the São João Baptista da Praia Formos Fort, also known as Praia Castle, built in the 15th century to protect the island.
