The Capela do Santo Cristo Chapel is a little religious edification in the city of Estremoz which was ordered to be built by the Senate in 1574.
The current aspect of this chapel is a work of Miguel Borralho, promoter of the construction of a transept and the integration of it in the closed chapel, all this in 1751. As aesthetic references, stand out the Neoclassic structure and the Rococo decoration.
According to the chronicles, it was near this chapel where D. Nuno Álvares Pereira went to mass before the Battle of dos Atoleiros, in 1384.
