The Museu Municipal de Estremoz (Estremoz City Museum) is a reconstruction of a traditional Alentejan house and of the customary handicraft of the region.
In this museum you will see excellent ceramic works of the 18th and 19th centuries, works in cork, horn and wood, and important hand-painted period furniture.
This museum also counts with Roman and Medieval Archeology centre, tiling and sacred art.
In one of the yards you will find a workshop where you can appreciate the labour of the “mudders”, who made the mud sculptures customary from Estremoz.
