The Museu do Mármore (Marble Museum) is set up in a centenary building of the old station known as Caminhos de Ferro, in the city of Vila Viçosa, in Alentejo, Portugal.
This museum exhibits, in a didactic way, the cycle followed by the marble since the geology, going through its history, extraction and transformation. Here, it is possible to have a look at the machinery used during the extraction as well as art pieces resulting from the work of this ornamental rock.
