Praia do Faro beach (Península do Anção), in the area of Barrinha, is an area of great natural beauty. The lack of buildings and the presence of a lush flora in the dunar system attracts a wide variety of birds such as little terns, ruddy turnstones, and plovers.
The waves around the sand-banks tend to be high, and taking care is strongly advised.
Ilha Deserta (or Ilha Barreta) can be seen from the beach. The island is covered in dense vegetation. It is a truly quiet area, almost deserted, that can be accessed walking along an elevated footbridge.
