The José-Augusto França Contemporary Art Museum was established in 2004 by Professor José-Augusto França in Tomar , Portugal.
Inside, you will find a collection of paintings, sculptures, sketches, and photographs extending from 1932 to the present.
The works by Mário Eloy, Júlio e Almada Negreiros marked the second part of the modernist movement in the 20th century.
Subrealism is preeminent in this museum with works by the Lisbon School and authors such as António Pedro, Vespeira, Fernando de Azevedo or Fernando Lemos.
Abstract Art and Nova-Figuração (Portuguese Neo-Expressionism) are also prensent with works by Fernando, João Cutileiro, Joaquim Rodrigo, or Noronha da Costa, among others.
