The Paços do Concelho (former town hall of Tomar) are the same building of the older Paços Reais (Royal Court) that King D. Manuel I built and then offered to the city administrators.
The manierist restoration of the 16th destroyed any manueline decorative element from the previous interiors.
In these buildings the Royal symbology can still be perceived: the Royal Coat of Arms, the Armillary Sphere and the Holy Cross.
In the exterior, the gallery with impressive half-pointed arches in the back façade is worth noting. The building nowadays features a exhibition room focused on old pharmacies, on the Prince D. Henrique, and Noble Room in which ceiling you can see the Coat of Arms of Tomar.
