The Igreja de São Bartolomeu is located right in the middle of the historical stretch in the city of Coímbra, in Portugal.
Its building began in 1756 over the remains of a Medieval 10th century temple.
From its inside stand out various Baroque golden carving retables, mainly the ones of the major altar (18th century), which include an allusive textile to the Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew.
On the side of the Gospel there is a Mannerist retable (16th century), from which stand out the paintings referring to the Death and Resurrection of Christ.
