The Garden of Cordoaria is located close to the Torre dos Clérigos Tower, in Porto. It’s official name is Jardim João Chagas, although it’s widely known as Jardim da Cordoaria Garden.
It’s a lush and pleasing park built in 1865 under the command of the Viscount of Vilar d’Allen, who appointed the German landscaper Emilio David (designer of the famous gardens of Palácio de Cristal).
Inside you will find several sculptures and busts, such as those of Juan Muñoz, Antonio Nobre, o Ramalho Ortigao.
In the narrow streets towards the North of the park, you will find the most lively pubs in all the city.
