The Museu do Carro Eléctrico (Tram Museum) is located in an old railroad switch house in Porto, Portugal. This museum exhibits several amazing restored electric trams, as well as different collections of uniforms, and historic photographs of tram drivers of the city.
The most interesting part is the collection of old trams, one of which dates back to 1872 and was animals-powered.
Trams were one of the big attractions of Porto. Nowadays, only three pretty pintoresque lines remain in use.
Admission to this museum includes free transportation for four hours with the “Tarjeta Andante” card, which can be used in the subway, trams, and buses all over the city.
