The Parish Church of Monsaraz or Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Lagoa was built in the 16th century and rebuilt twice, after the 1755 earthquake and afterwards.
The church features two towers and an pointed heading. In the interior, it houses a marble tomb from the 14th century sculpted with 14s saints where lie the remains of Tomás Martins.
In the exterior, next to the church, stands a pelourinho (“picota”) from the 18th century, crowned by a Manueline globe. Next to it, stand the Igreja da Misericórdia Church and, by its side, the Religious Art Museum.
